Word Art Wednesday: 1 Corinthians 13:13 and Happy Birthday to the Relief Society!

Hello, friends! It's been a few weeks since I've had the chance to participate in a Word Art Wednesday challenge, but I am on spring break this week and have been quite committed to doing all my favorite challenge! :) I've missed my digital art, so I am so excited to share some with you tonight!!!

This week, our scripture for the challenge is 1 Corinthians 13:13. There is a free word art available if you participate, but I chose to make my own and use the KJV wording of this verse. I'll tell you why after I show you my printable.

Here it is~

Okay, so why did I choose the KJV wording? Because that's the version of the Bible I read and ALSO because this month is my church's women's organization's (Relief Society) birthday! Wow. Try saying THAT 10 times fast. Anyway, the Relief Society turned 170 on March 17th this year (2012). Why does this matter, you ask? Because the Relief Society motto is "Charity never faileth." And since the pure love of Christ is charity, I wanted the KJV wording to reflect my appreciation for that amazing love.

I feel so incredibly blessed to be able to be a member of a world wide women's group that is focused on treating other with charity, the pure love of Christ. As I've met other women throughout the world and come to learn their stories, I have been strengthened by their faith and courage. I have met many women who are excellent examples of charity. They work tirelessly to help others to gain higher ground in a life that is so hard and uphill. They work in homes and the community alongside other women with the same values and with or without the same religious views. They love everyone--regardless of whether or not that love is returned. Their examples are inspiring! This is the type of woman I am striving to become.

Recently, our prophet and his counselors along with the quorum of the 12 apostles sent each sister who is a member of Relief Society an amazing book. It's called "Daughters in my Kingdom." As I have read and studied the history of our society as well as looked on the website for this book, I have come to realize how much God loves me personally. The book came at a time that I desperately needed to feel His love. I know he knew that. I know that He has inspired the writers and compilers of this book and website. As I continue to study this book and understand my role as a daughter in God's kingdom, I know that I will be able to become the type of woman that I want to be and that God wants me to be.

Thank you to the Word Art Wednesday design team for another fabulous challenge--you ladies are wonderful! Please feel free to save a copy of my printable and print it for your PERSONAL use. m Thanks for abiding by my guidelines (found at the bottom of this blog)! :) Happy printing!
